Ivanka: So, lethal force under any circumstance would be the last resort, but he is the commander in chief of the armed forces of this country. So he always has to be able to protect the border. He's not talking about innocents. He's not talking about innocent asylum seekers.
Roberts: Have you weighed in?
Ivanka: Of course. Nobody wants to see anyone get hurt, and I think that for many months we've talked about finding that bipartisan solution, fixing this border crisis, and no one can now look at the situation we have with the caravans and say that our border is not in crisis. It is.
Like her father, Ivanka has spent a lifetime trying to convince herself that she isn't a solidly mediocre person who was born on top of a rigged system. Her interests have always been dominated by her own wants, and being on the staff of the White House is simply another branding opportunity she can use to further her financial gains -- while trying to inflate her fragile ego.
She likely barely pays attention to what is happening in her father's administration, except as it directly affects her on the day she has to do an interview. Who knows if she even cares about Donald Trump? She probably believes she's in the clear of any and all of Mueller's investigation, and that's enough for her. Migrant children? Who cares.
