Close the funding gap
TB Alliance (Global Alliance for TB Drug Development) has called upon all countries to "step up the fight to defeat TB and overcome antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by closing the funding gap for TB research and product development through equitable approaches, securing universal access to new medicines and fostering global collaboration."
TB Alliance strongly endorses five key asks as priority actions which heads of state and governments must take:
- Reach all people by closing the gaps on TB diagnosis, treatment, and prevention and have appropriate simple, short and effective TB treatment available to all;
- Transform the TB response to be equitable and rights based;
- Accelerate development of essential new tools to end TB;
- Invest the funds necessary to End TB; and
- Commit to decisive and accountable global leadership, including regular UN reporting and review
Civil-society voices
Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF, or Doctors Without Borders) too has joined numerous patient and civil-society organisations in calling for the attendance of governments and heads of states at the UNHLM and:
- Declare ambitious national targets to close the gaps in testing, treatment and prevention;
