Throw in the president extolling "American exceptionalism as being "deep inside and a part of me", honoring those in the military as "heroes" before and during pro baseball and football games, "Blue Angel" flyovers and lest we forget the war departments marketing appeals of the US Navy being a "Force for good" all become part of the government's intent to indoctrinate the people.
I recall seeing some old newsreels of Hitler's Germany in the late 1930's, the huge military rallies in Nuremburg with swastika flags flying and him orating, "indoctrinating" the German people spewing his virulent brand of nationalistic fervor and hate.
In America we don't have these types of rallies. The government doesn't need them.
Today "our" government and its complicit corporate media are more subtle in their approach, but make no mistake, it's all meant to accomplish the same intent Hitler had, rally up and "indoctrinate" the people to get them to support the government's policies and actions.
Sadly, it seems to be working.
