Now most prominently in Libya and NATO's air campaign against Qaddafi. Here was a case of a madman intent on brutally attacking Benghazi with a fire power that would have shown no mercy to the people.
Yet for the most part, the anti-war left was content to let Qaddafi be, left to his own devices and massacre the people of Benghazi. From here, the anti-war lefts' ideological obsession against war or any outside interference even for humanitarian reasons was not justified.
It reveals an absolutism against any justification for humanitarian interference that includes armed conflict.
The reality is the world is complicated with no easy solutions. And that goes particularly for anything that springs from the extremes on the right or the left.
