To this day, the song is a sentimental favorite, and those who remember it sing the song with warmth -- and many tears! Till We Meet Again sold nearly twenty million copies; a volume of sales never repeated by any other song.

Here are the lyrics of Till We Meet Again:

Smile the while you kiss me sad adieu.

When the clouds roll by I'll come to you.

Then the skies will seem more blue,

Down in Lovers' Lane, my darlin'"

Wedding bells will ring so merrily,

Ev'ry tear will be a memory.

So wait and pray each night for me,

Till we meet again.

* Richard Whiting went on to become one of America's foremost songwriters.   Unfortunately, he died of a heart attack at age 46.   He was the father of Margaret Whiting, one of the great female vocalists, who became deceased very recently.
