When Blacks commit crimes they are demonized as monsters, evil, and doing the work of the unseen devil. Whites try hard to sanitize and justify white criminality from the unjust and unfair sentencing of Blacks for the same crimes as whites and the perception that Black lives are expendable -- just as it was during slavery times.

By the way what's this about hate crimes? Are they unhateful, or hateless crimes? and if so what, pray tell, are they. See, this is the kind of spin that further confuses acts of simply genocidal murder as what happened at Mother Emmanuel. White guy walks into a church. Mows down unarmed, innocent and unsuspecting people. Nine die. Now we are trying to "understand his motives." Its bloody simple: without any provocation an angry white, racist man with malice in his heart entered a church with a gun -- not a hymnal -- and shot nine people dead. White supremacist ideology many have jacked him up but he got a gun and committed mass murder.

So what now?

After the weepy church services, feigned outrage by politicians and over saturated media coverage dripping with vapid over simplifications and bovine stupidity, what comes after?

If history is our guide, then nothing comes next -- the unadulterated quintessence of nihility, zip, narda. We'll get a series of superfluous news coverage that will not raise the most pertinent of questions: how to confront and destroy white supremacist ideology and racism. What we'll also get is senseless, spineless spin and media crap. The media and its minions will try to pigeon hole Dylan Roof as a loner and therefore his actions that of the so-called "lone wolf."

What they'll forget is that the entire socio-economic and political system of the United States was built on the foundation of white supremacy and racism. Remember now, a white congressman felt comfortable calling the first Black president of the United States a liar IN THE CONGRESS ITSELF and during one of the most important speeches of the political calendar. Thing is if Roof just did not like Black people he'd be just another died-in-the-wool bigot. However, we MUST see white supremacy and racism as AN INPLACE SYSTEM where one group of people control all of the power over another one based purely on skin color. In America's case the privileged race is white and the other, unprivileged, lacking all power and relegated to a permanent underclass is Black.

By its very nature this system perpetuates continued discrimination, social and economic disparities, demonization of entire peoples, and is pervasive across every facet of daily life -- from the cradle to the grave. In short, this is a STRUCTURAL issue and it's manifested in every part of the daily lives of Black people from education to housing to jobs to the right to vote. In foreign affairs white American supremacy and racism is demonstrated by a thinly veiled contempt from people of color and glaring double standards when dealing with white European cousins.

So on to the next incident. Then, as now, we'll lament, some will wail and cry, the media will spin and pontificate, politicians will posture, feign anger and outrage, and in 10 days we'll forget and move to the next juicy mass murder. If you're white America its what you do.
