The sad truth is that this was one of the most poorly handled cases we have seen in recent years. Witnesses giving statements in front of the grieving parents, permanently staining their testimony. Strawman false narratives being offered at every single turn. From the beginning you knew something was wrong because the defense got more mileage out of the prosecution witnesses than the prosecution did. By the time we got to the defense case, the prosecution had already conceded that it was Martin who was the aggressor, not Zimmerman. With their original false narrative in tatters, the state case fell into complete disarray and by the time it came for closing arguments, they had none. So they tried to float as many different scenarios as possible. That is a great strategy if you are trying to establish reasonable doubt; which is exactly what they did. There was no question to anyone who watched this trial without the biased lens of what is left of our media, that the state failed miserably to prove their case. It didn't matter how many times they cursed in court. It didn't matter how many times they repeated the catch phrases of God given common sense, wannabe cop or bag of skittles. At the end of the day the facts were not there to support convicting George Zimmerman. Just like they were not there 17 months ago to arrest him.

I agree that there is not equal justice in many parts of this country. I agree that if the races were reversed that the whole story probably plays out differently. Trayvon Martin is dead and that is beyond a tragedy. But there is no justice in the line of thought that says George Zimmerman must go to jail regardless of the facts. There is no justice in dismissing the work of this jury. There is nothing equal about saying George Zimmerman must go to jail because if he had been black and Trayvon white, he would have. There is also nothing just about that. Sacrificing actual justice for George Zimmerman on the altar of equal justice for racial fairness in this country would having nothing to do with justice at all.
