4. Making everything a topic for "debate." That is an American method to bury a serious issue in the eternal sea of discussion, sort of talking the topic to death. Germans implement it with gusto and now there is no end to senseless and malicious discussions of the role of Hitler thus exonerating him from being a non-human figure of the German history.
5. The most interesting aspect in all that is the approach to the "Jewish question" - the one and only official embarrassment which cannot be forgotten. Thus if it cannot be forgotten - folks in Europe adopt an American approach of chopping the issue into pieces.
The original Nuremberg protocols and decisions treated SS, Vermacht and Gestapo as criminal organizations - serial killers. They were accused of deliberate orchestration and perpetration of murdering millions of people: Jews, Roma (gypsies), Communists, Socialists, union leaders, Sorbs (a Slavic-German minority), Slavs, the mentally disabled, homosexuals, intelligent anti-Nazis and WHOEVER THEY TARGETED. Although the Tribunal outlined the Genocide of the Jews as an example of the POLICY OF MURDER, it did not qualitatively distinguish between the vicious beating to death of General Schleicher in 1933 and rolling the tanks over the Roma children in the 1940s. The victims were the same and the murderers were the same.
That was then. But starting from Y1991 that formula had been perpetually undermined with the effort lead and coordinated specifically by the groups from the US. The primary goal was and is to somehow put Jews separately as the only victims of the Nazis while all the others mentioned should fall under the category of "forget about it." Communists, of course, were the first to go - they got what they deserved. After them the cloud of forgetfulness began to cover Slavic people - as soon as they did not raise the issue, why bother? Nobody cared for Roma, obviously. The issue of mentally disabled was embarrassing but really, deep inside don't we all want them to somehow disappear? Homosexuals, yes, but there were no records and they have enough problems in the modern world. Thus if we subtract all those categories, Jews remain as a problem to deal with. Here comes America to the rescue.
First, the event got a name - Holocaust. Per Merriam -- Webster dictionary this word means "a sacrifice consumed by fire" and that was the name of the Hollywood movie. Life imitates art. Perishing in fire can be treated as some kind of an accident, a freak accident but still an accident. There was a war between Germany, Allies and Russia and Jews somehow were stuck in the middle of it. Zionists and other good people warned them to get out of the way but they disregarded the good advice and remained. Despite the heroic effort of all kinds of nationalistic collaborators to help them to survive (which included some forceful measures), the Jews of Europe remained stubbornly left-oriented and as such -- subject to justified rage of the people who were pissed off at Communists. That is especially unfortunate about the Jews of Eastern Europe who supported Communism en masse and thus sort of got what they deserved. Holocaust is a perfect name for this new, revised concept of the Nazi role in Europe and we can paraphrase it like this:
- An unfortunate and deeply regrettable perishing of the European Jewry in the fire of WWII due to misguided falling of them under the influence of secularism, Communism and godlessness.
If we adopt a definition above it becomes a "Jewish issue" and falls under the Israeli ideological jurisdiction. Israel took over as a PRIMARY REPRESENTATIVE AND INTERPRETER OF THE HOLOCAUST and that automatically freed our good Europeans from any real responsibility for the action. As soon as they politically support the State of Israel, they can feel absolutely safe; nobody will raise the real issues anymore. What a brilliant strategy.
So now we understand better why our President Obama so proudly mentioned his grandfather serving under Gen. Patton. Obama is justifiably proud because the whole atmosphere of his vision of the world is OK with Patton being the liberator, Russia being en par with Hitler and Ukrainian nationalists calling themselves heroes. Obama is an ignoramus, but we are not. We know about Patton, that prima-donna with pearl-handled revolver who imagined himself Alexander the Great reincarnated. We know what really happened in Africa when French Legion surrendered on his own and then politely explained to the Americans what could they do to them if they did not decide to surrender. We know about a deal between the Neapolitan Mafia and Allies in Italy, and about the tragedy of Monte- Cassino when stupidity and malice of the Allies not only brought to the murder of innocent civilians but also to the bloody offensive commenced by the Polish forces on the fortifications with catastrophic casualties resulting.
Yes, we know. We know how they tell us about the battle of the Bulge and the Patton's march on Bastogne with prayer et al. Yes, they reached Bastogne in time and liberated it, but the real enemy, the 6th elite Panzer SS army and the powerful mountain divisions were long gone. They were redirected by Hitler through ABSOLUTELY UNHARMED RAILWAY NETWORK (never bombed by the Allies) to Zeelov Hills in Germany and to the Lake Balaton in Hungary to fight the coordinated Russian offensive ordered by Stalin in response to the desperate plead for help from Churchill. 300000 young Russians perished at Zeelov Hills and even more in Hungary, letting Patton have his hour of triumph. That's how it was and that's is the truth. And it is also the truth that prolonged battle at Balaton sealed the fate of the remaining Hungarian Jews - they all perished.
Maybe I am obsessed. Some people say that to me. But as a scientist I happen to admire a lot of people in history, would like to resemble them somehow and they all share the same feature - they all knew the Future-In-the-Past phenomena, they all knew that Sometimes They Come Back (refer to Stephen King's book with this name - MS).
