-A web page for the the Dreamkeeper Garden
-a logo for the Dreamkeeper Garden, just something simple that has a catchy visual of our vision.
-More permanent structures in the garden... signs that don't fall apart monthly, raised beds that are structured to be secure for years, shelves, tables, and benches that are there to stand the test of time.
-stepping stones that the kids can personalize to fill the garden
-artists to paint educational and inspirational things all along the length of our fence (it's a very, very long fence).
-A crew or machine to come really till the land, and prepare for our expansion so we can start really producing enough produce to give to families, eat in cafeteria, sell at markets, etc...
-Get rid of ALL the old deconstruction/reconstruction materials removed (i.e., 2 ft. long metal nails that children come up to me and say "Ms. Z, look what I found!")
-And finally, time. Time to really look at the greater picture with a realistic visionary perspective to make this garden the best that it can be for the scholars that deserve this space.
Feel free to post which ever you want, I imagine the list is too long to post it all. Thanks for everything, Joan, this opportunity was really great for me, to step back and look again.
Well, that's an impressive list, Amy! I see you've given it a lot of thought. If readers are inspired to help with any of these items, what should they do? How should they contact you?
Most certainly! They may reach me at my personal email and the school's phone number: azellweger (at) nola180 (dot) org, amy (dot) lynn (dot) zellweger (at) gmail (dot) com; the school phone number is: (504) 373-6251.
Got it. Thanks so much for talking with me. Is there anything else we haven't yet covered, Amy?
Well, Joan, I can't think of anything else. I think we've done a great job volleying responses back and forth. You are a pro at this! Thank you again for this opportunity, and let me know if there is anything else I can provide! Take care.
You take care, too, Amy. This was fun!
