Strike Three, Doublespeak Dana.
Let's play devil's advocate here and say Bernie did just recede quietly into the shadows so Team Hillary could march onward to victory. This assumes the FBI investigation against her will also fizzle into nothingness. There is no reason to believe that is the case at all. What would Dana suggest the DNC do if Hillary is indicted on federal charges? Dig up Biden?
And finally, what about the citizens in the states who have yet to vote? Should Democrats in California and Washington State and Washington DC and New Jersey and New Mexico and Montana and the Dakotas not get their chance to cast their ballot for their candidate of choice? Why disenfranchise millions of Americans? What good comes from that, Dana? Let's pop the horns on our heads again and assume Hillary isn't indicted and does become the nominee -- shouldn't she have an accurate picture of how many Bernie supporters -- across all 50 states -- ask that their views be represented in the eventual Democratic candidate?
Or are you saying, Milbank, as the DNC is saying, that Bernie and those millions of supporters who believe his message of honest politics and fairness in the workplace just don't matter at all? We should just sit down, shut up, and accept the corruption. Swallow a candidate who accepts millions from Big Corporations. Who makes arms deals and speaking deals with questionable nations with equal ease.
Is that what you want, Dana?
