Lest we forget 55 years ago the CIA perpetrated the Gulf of Tonkin incident blaming North Vietnam naval forces attacking US Navy ships. When in fact it was the other way around, a false flag incident with US Navy ships initiating the incident. But it was blamed on North Vietnam and Congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin resolution which President Johnson used as the basis to escalate the Vietnam war.
China is not Vietnam. And war games in the South China Sea is not the Tonkin Gulf with enemies already in hot war with the other.
Yet the US has China in its crosshairs [1]. An ongoing trade war with $billions of tariffs on Chinese goods. Targeting Chinese technological giant Huawei, the Pentagon's 2018 Nuclear Posture Review listing China as a nuclear threat to the US, accusing China for spreading Covid-19, now these round the clock war games.
Hold on to your seat belts. Things could get a whole lot worse.
