The government of Burma needs to intervene immediately to end the use of torture in the conduct of the ongoing conflict areas in the ethnic states. It should convincingly scrutinize and prosecute members of the Burma Army, Police Force, and Military Intelligence who are guilty for the ruthless crime against humanity.
If the government wanted to recover its reputation, all soldiers found guilty for this extrajudicial killing and tortures before Par Gyi's death must be prosecuted by all measures of the law in the presence of the public. Unless this unlawful killing of a citizen came to a decision fairly, people will not regard the current government as a civilian administration.
