In relation to this, Epistemologist Gregory Baetson ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregory_Bateson ) identifies our task as a species beautifully. That task is to identify the pattern that connects. The wild diversity inherent in the world reveals a pattern. Everything is built and functions in relationship to everything else. Even a simple unconscious act such as your breathing affects the atmosphere. You breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide which the trees breathe in and then they breathe out oxygen. At this level of knowledge, you can realize yourself as being a part of a planetary dance alongside everything else.
How can one be alienated knowing this?
Begin there and you will ultimately come to a place where you will not have any issues with alienation. Indeed, you will join in the poetry of the Hindu Upanisad which sings,
"It is above
It is below
It is, in fact
This entire World
And when one knows this
One knows bliss in the Self
And in all worlds is free."
Moving with this poem, you will see Nature as more than a network of creatures, land masses and atmosphere. Rather, you will see your Essence. It is for this reason that Essence is the definition of Nature. This process is mirrored in human conception when it is the egg that has taken in sperm that divides into multiple cells and becomes the person reading this article. By reclaiming your marriage to Nature, you reclaim yourself. You will become freed from the divide and conquer mentality inherent in the controlling factions of this day and age; be they religious, political, theoretical or philosophical.
