Imagine no religion, its easy if you do. No hell below us, above us empty sky.

He then sums the song up with the line:

And the world shall live as one.

To be atheistic is ultimately the most religious of experiences. This is true religion, which means to connect, to bind together. As the Bible states in more than one place: Love thy neighbor as thyself. Thy neighbor is this entire planet. The bird singing outside my window is my neighbor. The child dying of hunger in Mozambique is my child.

Sophia, God's Wisdom, says the same thing when people label themselves Atheist, Catholic, Protestant, Hindu or Buddhist. "Get rid of your idealisms and theologies!" Christ thus states for us to come to Him naked. To be naked is to be empty of conditioning.

The term Protestant is interesting. It means one who protests. What did they protest? Primarily they protested the theologies and practices of the Catholic Church.

So, what's happened in about 95% of the practitioners of the Protestants? They have sat humbly adoring and believing in what a man on stage tells them to believe. They also fall into the hands of the corporate masters as viciously reflected in the acts of the evil Koch Brothers who own Fox television. Thus, they are often worse in their destruction of the planet and our souls then the Catholics. Point the finger outwards and you have 3 coming back at yourself. "Judge not lest ye be judged."

As Dylan said in his song, "Desolation Road:"

Fearing not I become my enemy in the instant that I preached.

What a loaded line! The Protestants did just that. "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss," sing the Who in their "Won't Get Fooled Again."

Some rock and roll from the 60's and 70's gave us hints to true religion and a way of living that is beyond theologies, philosophies and idealisms. Yet, after singing the line "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" the Who's guitarist would smash his guitar into the stage. This kind of violence is a sign of a powerless resignation.
