One could possibly not be hired for a job which has nothing to do with politics if it is discovered that one is a nonbeliever. The applicant would never know in this environment.
One may be fired if it's found out that he or she is a nonbeliever. I submit to you, further, that almost any judge, especially in certain parts of this "god fearing" nation, would uphold the employers' actions. Let's face it; employers can use any reason to not hire someone or to fire someone as a veil behind which to hide their prejudices against nonbelievers.
At a November 4th meeting of The Contra County Atheists and Freethinkers which was held in Walnut Creek, California, I heard far too many statements like, "But, of course, I couldn't say anything at that time because I was a teacher (or held some other position which dealt directly with the public), but I can say whatever I want now because I'm retired."
Let's make it so that nonbelievers who are in the workforce in today's America don't have to wait until they retire to at least inform people, albeit even in casual conversation, that they are, indeed, nonbelievers. It's our turn.
Employers may not overtly admit to not hiring
nonbelievers or political parties may not overtly admit to not allowing
nonbelievers to run for office. This is the way it happens and this has to be stopped.
We shouldn't have to pretend we are who we are not in order to participate in
American society at any level and in any endeavor.
The bottom line is that, if one has to believe in a god, any god, in order to participate in any endeavor in The FUSA, then The FUSA is a theocracy.
