corrupt officials indulge in debauchery and there is plenty of this kind of
report in China, in Kabul and on C-Street. In
fact, the over-emphasis our media has placed on sex has diverted the attention
from the more serious theme which is corruption. In addition, we must take
legal processes seriously and uphold the basic rights of the suspect because we
have to profoundly re-examine our system and to avoid the present cycle of
à ‚¬Ëœwinner is the king, loser is the prisoner'!

The US Learned Very Little from Defeats in Vietnam and Iraq
US
policy makers assume they and NATO can absorb the abandoned remnants of the USSR. Whenever
possible they use diplomacy and trade to carry the flag so to speak. Invading
countries to set up local compliance with the US/NATO agenda is clearly a
disaster that has left 7.2 millions Asians dead in its wake.
Escalations in the number of troops and the volume of firepower work to
strengthen the resistance to the invaders. Usually, assassination of village
elders, bombing innocent civilians and prostituting their daughters are
negative tactics.
Such practices as torture ruin the moral fiber of a nation. Sixty-nine years
have passed since the end of WWII. Germany
remains the number one human rights abuser in Europe.
Still Doing War Crimes but More Politely
Every
tyrant will say the end justifies the means. In the final analysis, though, the
means become the ends in themselves.
After the Americans tortured prisoners to no positive result, the sadistic
pleasures became the payoff for the war game. At this point every prisoner is
dangerous as a potential witness.
The wise tyrant doesn't take prisoners. If he happens to detain some, they must
never leave the compound alive. Dead men rarely give interviews to the NY
Times.
The
Roman Empire grew for centuries primarily by
invitation. Neighboring states appreciated the stability under law that
characterized the Empire. They bought into the system and vied for membership. Rome led by example
collecting taxes as payment for her efforts.
Unsuited for Empire, the Americans are more the slash, burn and run type.
Reading this article the US
actors came over as quick buck artists with the intellectual depth of a
raindrop on cement. They dismantled the US, outsourced the productive parts
and left the citizens with horrendous debts and toxic assets.
In Asia NATO and the USA
seem to have launched a high tech version of the Crusades.
How Can We Afford to be in Afghanistan at All?

money is not the answer. To field one US soldier costs us $1,000,000. He will
be fighting Taliban who earn $6 per day.
