Now the messages in our books inform feminist organizations worldwide,
especially those in the West, about the origins of the Kurdish women's movement
now fighting to defeat the extremists who continue to aggressively maintain the
enslavement of women in the Islamic world. Although it is a recent publication Vashti Queen of the Ancient Medes already
has some ticks of approval (2), while the companion title in the Airyanem
Series, Esther, Mystery Queen of the
Medes, explores the parallel story of the Jewish Purim hero, Esther.

Thanks to the authors for telling Vashti's story. As a feminist, I've
known for a long time that the book of Ester wasn't just about Ester.
Unfortunately, i have not come across anything about Vashti and Jewish midrash
pesent her in a very unfavorable light. I know the book is fiction but the
storyline makes sense. I gave the novel only 4 stars because I felt it could
have been edited more carefully. Otherwise, I really couldn't put the book
down.
