That provision was provided in Article 5 of the U.S. Constitution, which enables Congress or State Legislatures to propose and ratify amendments to the Constitution, to expand and ensure rights that we desperately need in this modern day and age. And we, the people, can and should demand that our legislators, who are supposed to represent us, do so.
Now, I have written this very carefully to ensure that I am true to the message delivered by Joseph J. Adamson, who I have paraphrased and even quoted because he shows the way. And I urge you to read his articles which this article reflects. They are: Partisan Politics: The Best Way to Determine Leadership, Or a Corrupt, Failed System?, How the Meek Shall Inherit the Earth, and The 21st Century Declaration of Independence: How America Can Become a Truly Good Example to the World.
I deeply believe that when enough people read and understand the message that Adamson delivers, and take appropriate action, we will be able to establish government that is truly of, by and for the people.
Whether that action is through the "citizen initiative" process to put measures on state ballots, or through more rapid appeals to our representatives in Congress and state legislatures, what matters is that we stand up for ourselves, and make our voices heard to our friends, to public officials and authorities, and to the powers that be.
We should speak truth to power, but without rancor, without malice, and without anger. Speak from the heart, with compassion, with understanding, and with love even for those you judge as your enemy. Then, together, we may reconcile our honest differences, make amends, and move forward toward real unity and peace.
