B. In order to survive we need first to acknowledge the truth
Let' first acknowledge the truth: the country is in seizure and the three branches of government are dysfunctional. Republican Party practically had become a neo-KKK, and Democrats are complicit. We can talk our ears off about corporate power or power of money in politics but we will only deceive ourselves; the real reason it so happened is that we, the honest and educated folk of this country, had abandoned our societal duties and responsibilities. It is our fault that we have what we have now.
In 1857 Feodor Dostoyevsky travelled through Western Europe and postulated a scathing conclusion, which I personally call "The Dostoyevsky's Law":
-You know what? Even a hardened
criminal can retain a sense of honor, but here they all are so honest, that they totally lost any sense of honor. Thus they do dishonorable things out of the goodness of their hearts...
That's about us. We are those "honest", dishonorable people, who just care about feeling good about ourselves. It's time to stop lying to ourselves first and foremost. We are guilty as sin: we knew what was happening all along and we did nothing. Oh yes, we whined. But we never stuck our own heads out; we let others do our bidding. Isn't it shameful that when it comes to a real fight we rely on little women and minorities? We had been sitting on a fence for decades, basking in our honest dishonor and in our "spiritual ignorance. "
The US professional and academic community is as ignorant as a dirty hick from Louisiana; we here are spiritually ignorant because even the best of us do not want to acknowledge the fundamental truth about this nation-it is not a nation yet, it is by far inferior to other nations on Earth when it comes to what means to be truly human. We here in the US had become a threat to the survival of the Humanity, an evil force on the prowl.
So now we know that we, the educated people of the US had become a part of the problem. How can we reverse that and become a part of the solution?
C. Popular Front
Obviously, we first must start acting honorably. We, the educated people must become the initiators of the Popular Front movement in this country.
Popular Front, or People's Front, as it is called sometimes, is in a nutshell-a unified, coordinated action of all healthy, progressive forces of the country against an existential threat. Trumpism is that threat and it gets worse every day. Trump is like a diphtheria bacteria; he sits in one place, but his poison pollutes the organism of the country. It is thus imperative to bring all the forces against him together, not to just resist, but to go on an offensive, to get rid of him politically once and for all.

The movement was eventually betrayed by its own leadership, the French liberal wealthy elite, which was more scared of mythical "ghost of communism" than of real Nazis. It collapsed, and France found itself defenseless against Hitler in 1939-1940.
Here in the US, we don't have a foreign threat. Our situation mostly resembles the last period of Weimar Republic in Germany; right after German Nationalist Party reached an agreement with Hitler and transferred to him their key people in all branches of real powers. In our case it was the Bushist-branch of GOP which recently gave Trump their people in all branches of federal and state governments. Like now in the US, at that time the anti-hitlerian forces in Germany were powerful and strong. But they were divided and bitterly quarreled with each other. They failed then and we all know what happened next.
The clock is ticking in the US. Someone must start the process of the consolidation of the forces of light in this country and do it now. We here in the US have a great advantage- the perception of the grass-roots movement is a natural thing in this country and is still valued by the people.
