The United States Department of Justice announced Hewlett-Packard (HP) agreed to pay 55 million dollars to settle claims the computer manufacturer defrauded the US government. The settlement resolved allegations that HP paid kickbacks to systems integrator companies in return for recommendations that United States agencies buy HP products, the Justice Department said in a statement. The Obama Administration was subjected to a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), challenging the right of the Obama Administration to assassinate United States citizens outside of war zones. "The United States cannot simply execute people, including its own citizens, anywhere in the world based on its own say-so," insisted the Executive Director of the CCR Vince Warren. Source
