(1) the widespread government and media propaganda that the USA itself is using in its "war" against Russia, including as regards Ukraine (illegal overthrow of the democratically-elected Yanukovich government; political crisis; economic crisis; civil war with military and civilian lives lost on both sides and indiscriminate shelling of residential areas with thus far a minimum of almost 7,000 deaths and over 17,000 injured; "anti-terrorist operation" against the Donbass people of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions; the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 downing with 298 lives lost; Crimea referendums and integration with Russia), President Putin, the Olympic Games in Sochi, Edward Snowden, the USA's use of "soft power" around the world and its impact upon sovereign countries, etc.
(2) the European Union's widespread government and media propaganda against Russia;
(3) Ukraine's widespread government and media propaganda against Russia.
And as you write the above and future articles, I respectfully request that you ask yourself each time the fundamental and important question:
"Am I CONTRIBUTING to friendship, cooperation, respect, truth, and peace among Russia, Ukraine, the USA, and the European Union, or am I FUELING hatred, obstruction, disrespect, propaganda, and war?"
The choice, of course, is yours, and I hope that you exercise it in favor of CONTRIBUTING.
At that point, you will have covered everyone's (Russia, USA, EU, Ukraine) government and media propaganda and hopefully in doing so will have made a contribution to PEACE by showing that all four are engaging in propaganda and demanding that all four reduce it significantly since it enormously threatens the PEACE process. At this very moment, PROPAGANDA is in extremely long supply, but PEACE and a search for it is in very short supply. If the USA and the European Union government officials and mainstream media outlets continue to "demonize" Russia and Putin and continue to "angelize" Ukraine and Poroshenko regarding the extremely desperate situation in Ukraine, they will have made a catastrophic contribution to the initiation of a 3rd world war. IF during the past 17 months (since April 2014) of the Ukrainian civil war the United States and European Union had confronted the Ukrainian central government as much as it has confronted the Donetsk People's Republic, the Lugansk People's Republic, and Russia with all types of sanctions, accusations, and threats, in all likelihood there would NOT be any Ukrainian civil war going on today.
I think that a fundamental problem that my beloved America (as my motherland) has with my beloved Russia (as my fatherland) is an unwillingness to understand that my Russia has the very same legal and moral right to choose its own destiny as my America does, regardless of how much we Americans may or may not like the destiny chosen. The same is true of Ukraine. If we Americans would try to understand Russia from the standpoint of, "what IF the shoe were on the other foot," we would be much better off in our understanding of Russia and in our much-needed long-term goal to respect, cooperate, and be friends with Russia and Russians.
By the way, in my estimation another fundamental problem between the two countries is that they are extremely similar (much more so than either would like to admit) and thus view each other with a high level of contempt because they think that they already know each other through the prism of their knowledge of themselves.
