The United states Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted a petition from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the chief lobbying group for the major studios, that would permit for a limited-period useof "selectable output control" technology for watching movies in the home. The technology disables video and audio outputs on set-top boxes to prevent illicit recording. Source
In a quarterly report filed late Friday to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Moody's quietly disclosed that its Wall Street Analytics unit is cooperating with an investigation by the SEC and the United States Justice Department into "certain financial institutions" and the valuations used in "certain financial instruments."
