The Commission's report tried putting lipstick on a pig. It was little more than window dressing. It doesn't wash. Burnishing Israel's image substituted for real policy changes.
They come top down. None are in prospect. Gaza remains besieged. Blockade is policy. Multiple West Bank community incursions occur daily.
Palestinians are intimidated, humiliated, attacked, beaten, shot, killed, injured, arrested, imprisoned, and tortured. Their fundamental rights are denied. State terrorism oppresses them.
Militarized occupation enforces collective punishment. Praying to the wrong God is criminalized.
Their homes are bulldozed. Their land is stolen. They're dispossessed. Their liberating struggle is called terrorism. Turkel 2.0 changed nothing. Freedom remains no closer than earlier.
