Having Donald Trump on your show may be great for ratings, but in the clamor to book him, are journalists falling short in interrogating Trump and his policies? The Donald is a traffic-driver for news sites, much as Sarah Palin was in her political heyday, and it’s utter folly to turn up one’s nose at the prospect of more eyeballs. The question is whether some outlets are willing to trade tough-minded journalism for access to Trump and his ardent audience. Trump is, conspicuously, cable catnip.
