The SE Asian-American includes those uprooted during Vietnam; U.S. bombed Cambodia, helping Khmer Rouge, leading to 2 million victim genocide. In Laos, the US carried out bombings.
Despite media’s ignoring of the SE Asian-American plight community, its members organize across the country in: Asian Prisoner Support Committee, Southeast Asian Resource Action Center, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, VietLead, Providence Youth Student Movement, and the Khmer Anti-Deportation Advocacy Group.
They asked Gov. Newsom to submit clemency recommendations for those eligible, to use his power to undo the damage the federal government has done. These advocacy groups continue to support their members’ rights to remain where they have built their lives in for decades, long before Trump.
