Unsurprisingly, money spent on poverty pays for itself many times over. A new study shows just how much - 7X. While the U.S. spends far less than other industrialized countries on poverty reduction, it costs us just as much or more in the end, in terms of health outcomes, subpar productivity among the large numbers of poor, and criminal activity.
