Poor Russians.  According to an op-ed in the paper of record, Russians are starving for cheese because of Putin.  And they do not know how to make it says Masha Gessen in the op-ed.

Gessen has a long history of bashing Putin.  That the NYT chose to publish such a silly article shows how desperate they are to prove that U.S. sanctions are working, and how bad Putin's boycott of agricultural products from those countries imposing sanction.

Sanctions are hurting Europeans maybe more than Russians.  Russia is quickly diversifying its economy and the nations it imports from.  It may be a long time before European exporters recover their lost markets in Russia--if ever.
