Violent misogynist posts in secret CBP Facebook group 'confirm our worst fears' of agency culture

Lawmakers visiting Texas detention centers spoke about a secret Facebook group in which Border Patrol agents shared comments about Congress members.

Reps. Veronica Escobar (D-TX), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) traveled to Clint, Texas to visit a Border Patrol station where legal advocates reported last month that they had found 100+ children living in inhumane conditions.

ProPublica released its  report  on a Facebook group of Department of Homeland Security employees daring agents to throw “a burrito at one of these bitches” and lewd photoshopped images of AOC, who predicted the comments would be dismissed as the work of “a few bad eggs,” but said the group was indicative of the “violent culture” of CBP, with “20,000 total Customs & Border agents in the US, 9500 are in a racist and sexually violent secret CBP Facebook group.”
