Today, May 15th, 2018, marks the 70th anniversary of the Nakba. Every year, on Nakba Day, Palestinians commemorate the displacement of nearly a million Palestinians that occurred as a direct result of Israel’s Declaration of Independence in 1948. On this day of catastrophe, seventy years ago, Palestinian families were forced from their homes. Many Palestinians living in Gaza today are actually refugees, forced to flee from what is now called Israel.
