No country in the post WWII era has committed so many crimes against humanity, and supported so many genocides, as the United States of America. And in summary, no other part of the world has murdered more people on our planet, than Europe. And most North Americans are descendants of the Europeans. The ‘foreign policy’ of the US is directly derived from colonialist policies of the former European powers. Therefore, crimes against humanity committed by the West have never stopped; never stopped for centuries.

How many lives would have been saved if the ICC would have acted? Will they actually carry out their planned investigation in Afghanistan or will they be cowed (or bought off) by the US?

It's about time if they really mean business. How many millions of lives could have been saved and sovereign nations not destroyed had they been on top of things decades ago. These illegal invasions will continue until someone is tried and convicted of these travesties.

#TrulyIronic - that the UK, signatory to the ICC and the Rome Treaty, outlawing wars of aggression and vowing to bring the head of states perpetrators to justice has not charged or prosecuted Blair nor has the UK sent Blair to the Hague for trial if they refused to to it. Obviously, UK Treaty signatures have become meaningless - no PM Blair, Iraq was not planning to attack the UK, in "fifteen minutes", or otherwise, never not at all.

The ICC, like the temporary post WW2 courts at Nuremberg and Tokyo, were never courts with world jurisdiction, and were never dedicated to the principle of rule of law, just to the use of the concept to justify the crimes of the powerful and their flunkies, take revenge on a small number of people on the losing side, and deceive the world's people that law is followed as written for all people.

The ICC is located in a country militarily occupied by USA, and surrounded by other countries militarily occupied by USA. That is not conducive to court independence. Also, several years ago an Israeli was named to the court as a member of the staff that screened cases before they reached the judges, which is akin to appointing OJ Simpson to be District Attorney of Los Angeles County prior to his arrest. I also note the political portion of the UN is, by its geographical location, a direct hostage of USA, unlike ICC which is an indirect one.

I do not share Andre Vltchek's apparent optimism that people will change their opinion of the ICC based on Pompeo's statement. Bush2's statement that USA was not bound by the ICC was very clear, and some did take note.

Thank you for the quicklink.
