As you may know, this isn't the first time the US Army has dabbled in this space. It has notable been using VR tech for quite sometime for a variety of purposes. This new contract just further indicates its intention to expand and explore the mixed reality space even more.

Gee, what would I do with half a billion dollars? The word "Defense" can conjure up a variety of images. Mine has to do with the water system in Flint, still not dealt with, and a variety of other notions connected with undoing the deadly mistakes we've made around the planet. This particular rationale for profligacy just seems absurd.

However, in keeping with my insistence that the worst of our aggression has served to create conditions ripe for arguing with our predetermined demise by celestial collision, all I can hope is that this technology will serve some other valid peaceful purpose, perhaps in educating autistic children. As to preparing for more war against our brethren worldwide, it bespeaks enormous cynicism, which I don't share.
