Trump's golf outings have cost taxpayers more than $100 million

Trips to golf courses in FL, NJ, LA,  and Scotland cost taxpayers $102 million, 255 times the presidential salary, HuffPost said. The breakdown of costs found that his 24 trips to Florida cost taxpayers $81 million, his 15 trips to New Jersey cost $17 million, his LA trip cost $1 million, and his Scotland trip cost $3 million. Before taking office, Trump criticized Obama for his outings. Obama racked up about $30 million in out-of-town golf expenses in his first 2 years, $70 million less than Trump.The White House has defended his visits to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where he golfs frequently, saying that he has also met with world leaders and conducted business there. "He is not vacationing when he goes to Mar-a-Lago," a White House spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, told The Washington Post in 2017. "He works nonstop every day of the week, no matter where he is."
