Trump administration officials said all year Obamacare markets were working. Now they want a federal court to scrap the law, stripping insurance from millions.

University of Michigan law professor Nicholas Bagley, who has closely tracked litigation related to the healthcare law, said federal courts are usually reluctant to pry too deeply into inconsistencies in how government officials justify their actions.

The Trump administration, however, is testing the limits of this restraint, he said. “Courts can get pushed to the point where they say this is too much to swallow.”

The one positive reprieve of the nightmare of Trump's reign that I've been able to construct is his ability to incur examination of things we may have taken too much for granted. Like everything.

In the end, we may have to thank him retrospectively for denuding the Right of its whole objective, its entire empty, amoral push to strip human and every other kind of right from our political vocabulary.
