The New York Times just responded to being excluded from a private press briefing in Sean Spicer’s office, remarking that they have never been excluded by the White House in this manner for as long as the publication has existed. Spicer held an off-camera question-and-answer session today, inviting such Trump-supporting outlets as Breitbart, the Washington Times, Fox News, and One America News Network, as well as some other mainstream media outlets. The NYT was excluded from this briefing, as well as CNN, The Hill, Politico, BuzzFeed, the Daily Mail, BBC, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Daily News. Time and The AP were invited, but have boycotted the event in protest of the discriminatory guest list.
