The UN rapporteur on torture has written a scalding op-ed in support of Julian Assange, in which he says the publisher was the victim of a smear campaign. Now he claims many leading MSM outlets are snubbing the piece. Note: I find rt.com/news one of the best sites for what's happening in the world. Also, both Lee Camp and Chris Hedges have programs there.

In view of all the insanity in the world today, it's hard to even know what to follow, let alone decipher it. I hold Julian Assange near the top of the list, as the horror show of his captivity is astounding in itself, but also unfathomably symptomatic of the global transition to utter fascism.
