The Russian Vaccine for COVID-19 - The Lancet Respiratory Medicine

The Russian vaccine is named Sputnik V, after the Soviet-era space programme. One person to have received it is the president's daughter. “She feels well, and the concentration of antibodies is high”, said Putin. “The main thing is to ensure unconditional safety and effectiveness of this vaccine in the future.” Mass production is expected to begin in September, 2020. Russia, which has seen almost 1 million cases of COVID-19, said that it would be able to provide 500 million doses of Sputnik V per year.
