As Chris Hayes put is so well recently, many of the GOP debates have been about the "performance of dominance" - led, of course, by the antics of Donald Trump.
In a disgusting (and vaguely sexualized) illustration, Trump recently responded to Mitt Romney's criticism by hearkening back to the days when Romney sought Trump's endorsement: "I could have said 'Mitt, drop to your knees, and he would have dropped to his knees.'"
Perhaps the way out of this mess is the search for new definitions of masculinity and power.
