Recent reports have suggested an alternative theory for Shulkin’s ouster: that he was the target of a concerted effort by other Trump appointees to use the expenses scandal to get rid of him because he wasn’t conservative enough. Indeed, the more you look at Shulkin’s departure, the more it seems like another example of virulently anti-government Republicans exploiting Trump’s Presidency to advance their own goals. In this case, the goals involve privatizing much of what the V.A. does, and maybe even dismantling the public health-care system.

I'm clueless as to why veterans aren't just handed a Medicare card of their own for life? My wonderful ceramics teacher suffered through cancer with inadequate care and finally died in his early fifties from being stationed next to an agent orange dump while soldiering in Viet Nam. "My whole platoon is dead", as according to him they all died unnatural cancer deaths way before their time. The war was trash, the care is trash, and somehow nobody cares. These are evil people trying to take charge. Let's vote them out.

I can't say that all the care in the VA is good enough. I can't also claim that it is better than outside care even though many say it is.

But the VA provides care in kinda 'non-profit way' and there are many people who do good care.

Republicans want to privatize VA care, the way is to improve it.

Of course, a disclaimer, I work as a doctor in the VA (but I worked in many other settings too).
