Jens Holm and Hakan Svenneling, members of Sweden’s Left Party, said Monday that Thunberg “has worked hard to make politicians open their eyes to the climate crisis” and “action for reducing our emissions and complying with the Paris Agreement is therefore also an act of making peace.”

Thunberg, 17, has encouraged students to skip school to join protests demanding faster action on climate change, a movement that has spread beyond Sweden to other European nations and around the world. She founded th e Fridays for Future movement inspiring similar actions by other young people.

Any national lawmaker can nominate somebody for the Nobel Peace Prize, and 3 members of the Norwegian Parliament nominated Thunberg last year.

In 2019, she was among four people named as the winners of a Right Livelihood Award known as the “Alternative Nobel”; she was named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year.”

My most recent article (yesterday)was about the yachtivist Greta exposed, but was declined, and I now see that any article I submit will be rejected.

Greta goes to a school where there is no attendance, so her "school strike" is a farce. Greta has adolescent security as well as muscle men to keep control over who has access to Greta during her rallies.

Greta's fame-starved parents, along with others in Al Gore's "green" agenda handle her schedule.

What solutions has Greta offered and why does she not take her own advice about her carbon footprint, along with her entourage that flies in her interests?

The Nobel Peace Prize has been a joke of a award after the globalist stooge Obama received one for being "good at murdering people."

I occasionally appreciate your skepticism, but only up to the point at which it become either nihilistic and/or just plain downright mean-spirited.

You tread a fine line.

Maybe some of the right wing crackpot news sites would eat it up, the article you just described.

I stand in awe of her accomplishments, because they are LEADING others to define solutions, prodding the top dogs in the world, like those attending Davos.

I have been a serious activist most of my life, in one form or another; I have paid some severe prices for being outspoken, which those who have never risked anything will never even begin to understand.

I must ask: Do you also dislike MK Gandhi?

Thunberg is very much in his tradition, as well, but there will always be both curmudgeons and a few Hindu activists that hate him, and build temples to his assassin, like the one to Naturam aGodse in Gwalior, India.

The Salt March in the video below was truly a high point of Western Civilization, as I see things.

This clip from Attenborough's film speaks directly to this in full color:

I think Mr. Crawford simply stated some facts that should be easily verifiable. One's attitude or reaction to facts should be allowed, whether it's admiration or skepticism.

It's plenty hard these days to dig out the truth, let alone rescue it from propaganda. Let's disagree gently.

I have had to respond to at least ten comments by Mr. Crawford, so I speak from direct personal experience.

I sincerely think both of you should move up a bit from commenting and write an article of your own (you with 2124 comments).

You might have then a clearer picture of how and why those who write articles react to comments.

Further, I am an admin in 30 Facebook groups and have learned to "look behind" the comment, or at least try to, to see what is the deeper motivation in the mind of the person making the comment. I resolve many such disputes, actually, so I appreciate your reaction today.

I guess most people are wearing a little thin these days. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. :)

Stephen, did you even read my first comment? I said I tried to submit an article about the yachtivist Greta, with a you tube video of a journalist who has exposed her, and her FAME-STARVED parents who have ABUSED her to enrich themselves. OPEDNEWS REJECTED it and won't allow any article I submit to be published. WHY? Because Rob only wants a certain theme he controls to be seen. It's his right as it's his website, but it is NOT the objective, informative site it claims to be by withholding contrary information..

Do you recall the native American wandering around the country and shedding a tear over the air, land and water pollution he saw, back in the early 70's? I was a teenager then and this is where my environmentalism began, not awakened by a 16 year old whose lifestyle mimics those she tongue-lashes. I lived 12 yeas in a 160 sf one room cabin with no running water or electricity. My vehicles until recently were heavily used 2 wd pickup trucks. I spent 10 years in China @003-2015 working at medical schools related to hospitals my great great grandfather built between 1865-1901. I have volunteered for over 20 years on 5 continents my medical and construction, mechanic knowledge with those who want to improve their lives. So, don't go assuming I have done nothing for my fellow human.

So, you and others here at opednews are duped to believe this 16 year old who only travels by carbon-neutral NOT multi-million dollar boats or First Class train seats is a "Climate-activist," yet don't include her and her entourages increased carbon-footprint contributions which is rather disingenuous towards the cause. Be more impressed if she "lived" her cause instead of demanding others do as she says, not as she does.

This attitude is also racist/bigoted, since it denies the developing world the chance to enjoy what Greta has taken advantage of her whole life. China and India releases are far carbon intensive than the west, yet Greta ignores these countries in her rants.

Yes, there is much we agree on, but also miles apart on others, and the yachtivist Greta and her farce of a group are contributing more to climate-change than reducing it.
