Tell Florida’s Natural: Orange Juice with Roundup Weedkiller Is NOT ‘Natural’

Alexandra Axon, a Brooklyn woman, filed a class action lawsuit against Florida’s Natural in August this year. Richman Law Group filed the suit on behalf of Axon in August (2018), accusing Florida’s Natural Growers, Inc. and its parent company, Citrus World, Inc., of deceptive labeling and marketing.

According to the lawsuit: “Glyphosate is not necessary for successful planting, growing, or harvesting oranges; and is not a ‘Natural’ method of growing or harvesting oranges. Over the past several years, consumers have become increasingly conscious of the detrimental effects that glyphosate may have on human health and the environment. Reasonable consumers do not expect glyphosate to be found in truly natural orange juice.”

Take Action!

Why not actively engage?

Protest by ceasing to imbibe the product at all, for say, 6 months, and see what happens.

Who'll be most adversely affected with withdrawal symptoms? You, the consumer addict of orange juice or the greed monger manufacturer of the carcinogenic toxin?

Signing a petition is putting ones signature to a 'piece of paper'. We all know how far that gets us when it comes to enacting protective legislation for human beings!

Constitutional law is actively being shown to be nothing but a 'piece of paper' circumvented at will by those controlling the reins of power.

How's that been working lately for you'all?

"And that's the news."

One More Alternative: BUY ORGANIC ORANGE JUICE, and totally avoid that s--t from Brazil. One Northeast Brazilian state has 83% of the women's breast milk with Roundup, taken from extensive tests in the maternity wards.

P.S.: there is nothing wrong with signing a petition directed to the CEO and president of this miscreant company! For many, that is as much "getting in their face" as they can feel comfortable with. Companies listen to such things, usually in horror, but they do listen!

It's worse than just "natural" Florida Orange Juice. The label "natural" is allowed to be put on any product, even those containing GMO ingredients.

I switched to organic products after learning about Monsanto and glyphosate.

Since glyphosate has been accepted as "gras" (generally regarded as safe) the label "natural" has been approved as a food label. I do not buy "natural" as a result and I cross my fingers when I see the label "non-GMO" since corn, soy, vegetable oils, sugar, dairy products (cows are fed corn and soy), papaya....

In America today, one just doesn't know when they're being lied to or misled, on any given subject. I think that's pretty sad.

I often wonder if people were shown where the mainline juices comes from, and what goes into them, would they continue to drink them?

I've seen footage of juice plants that produce Tropicana and Minute Maid, etc., showing the huge vats where they add sugars and so much artificial content. By the time they're finished, the juice is, maybe, 3% natural ingredient.

And, there's so many brands, all relabeled from the same source. The treatment for other fruit juices is similar. The whole story is disgusting!

It's not easy to get truly organic fruit juices where I am, and when you find them, they're prohibitively expensive. So, I haven't been consuming any juices, and I really miss them.

D.A. ~~~ I understand, but are you sure there are no organic outlets anywhere near you? I guess I am rather spoiled here in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where things happen like this:

The Safeway goes out of business and the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum turns that huge building into their Annex

The Albertson's goes out of business, and Wild Oats, now Whole Foods, moves in.

We have buying clubs, small Vitamin Cottage shops, organic restaurants, you name it.

There are some sources, but as I said, the prices are way out of my league. (Works out to almost triple what we're used to paying.)

This is one reason we're so inundated with large crap-producing companies. Their production costs are insanely low - so low they can sell cheap and still make huge profits. And, thanks to the Walmart economy we're left with, few can afford to go elsewhere.

Thank you. Will it make a difference?

I hope so, but probably this manufacturer knows precisely how toxic their product is, and their response is a combination of don't-sue-us-because-FDA-says-were're-OK, and CYA (cover your ass), and then go with the flow and join the procession of idiots who don't care how they screw up their body metabolically and biochemically.

When I buy OJ once a month, I always spend the $9 or whatever it is, to get certified organic!
