With the GOP House and Senate majorities’ passage of the tax bill, Social Security and Medicare are on the Republican’s chopping block. If the cost of these programs are truly problematic, the Trump Administration should readily support the bill that would allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug price discounts introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders and other progressive champions.

Failure to pass the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Act will likely result in the raising the eligibility age for Medicare forcing seniors to delay retirement. This will reduce opportunities for younger generations of workers causing higher unemployment for these workers and greater civil unrest in America.
