"LAUSD continues to perpetrate a fraud against teachers without being held accountable for the criminal behavior. it is an expensive proposition to keep charged teachers sitting around often for years on end, while having to pay their salaries and those of their substitutes. For a selection of 18 reassignments, costs per case ranged from about $7,000 to nearly $315,000 during the period we reviewed, but by removing these teachers form service (something T he California State Auditor never mentions) LAUSD saves a fortune in the end -- $60,000 a year in combined salary and benefits in just the first year these teachers are gone Through the ploy of fabricated charges, teachers at the top of the salary scale with expensive benefits packages, are thrown out, with no regard for their civil rights. $7000 is a small cost compared to paying that!"
