Speaker Paul D. Ryan said he is “sickened” by lewd comments Donald Trump made about women in a 2005 video disclosed Friday and that the Republican presidential candidate will no longer appear with him at a campaign event in Wisconsin Saturday. In a short statement issued moments after Ryan’s, Trump said his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, “will be representing me” at the Wisconsin event while he remained in New York to prepare for Sunday’s town hall debate. Trump did not volunteer to skip the event. Rather, Ryan asked Trump not to attend, according to two people familiar with the interaction.
