Revolutionary $1bn carbon capture plant about to be completed at Texas power station

The Petra Nova plant is to be incorporated in the Washington A Parish power plant

"The world’s largest carbon capture scheme is about to be fitted to a 2.7GW coal-fired power station in Texas at a total cost of $1bn."

It's not cost-competitive unless oil is above $75/barrel, but it makes one wonder whether it would make economic sense if taxes were shifted onto pollution & away from profits. Perhaps there is just not enough incentive? As Ralph Nader said: "Why not tax bads instead of goods?"
