More than 70 New York City restaurants are pouring their discarded shells into the Billion Oyster Project, through which students recycle and transform them into healthy reefs in once-toxic waters.

Owens says the project is not just smart for sustainability; it's also good for business. Recycling shells significantly reduces carting expenses, something all NYC restaurants must pay for by the bag. 'Recycling them into the reef is a huge savings,' he says.

Politics isn't just shady stories from the tasteless bunch in the White House; it's how we discover how to replace what we've lost in the process of making ourselves comfortable en mass, while disregarding the structures around us that have evolved over millions of years until they're almost gone, and then miraculously finding we can replace them and improve things. A good thing.

Since most of the news pumped faithfully to us by the media are hyped nonsense proliferated by the administration to distract us from the real sh*t they're pulling behind the scenes, I fell it's necessary to improve our self image as a species by promoting the REAL NEWS, which is really new stuff, not old stuff that brings us down. Don't lower yourself I say. Stick with the positive.
