We didn't need much more evidence that we're heading in the wrong technological direction that Eric Schmidt's idea expressed a few years back of having his spoiled kids be sent on a holographic tour of the Mumbai slums, where real people suffer, to more fully appreciate what they've got. No mention of alleviating the slumdogs' misery is mentioned, because it's an amusement ride for the rich.
