Diane Ravitch recommends this 'laugh out loud' post about words  that have been used by education reformers  to change the nature of public schooling.'  Bailey says: 'Consider, 'student-centered.'  If you are a teacher when are you not student-centered?'  She says: 'It reminds me of “teaching and learning”  words which, where I live, has been heavily used. Don’t you just presume a student will learn if a teacher teaches?' (i.e actually shows, demonstrates and offers real, engaging practice in  how to do a skill or learn information)

Go see the lists of words Baily offers, that the  reformers of the  EDUCATIONAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, use to befuddle ordinary folks. She asks readers to add their own!
