The US senate has approved a deal to co-operate with India over civilian nuclear technology, reversing a 30-year-old ban.
It adopted a bill on the US-India Civilian Nuclear Agreement by a 85-12 vote. India, a non-signatory of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, agreed to place its atomic reactors under global safeguards as part of the deal. |
