They had just finished celebrating a co-workers birthday with ice cream sundaes, then six members of an office were trying to escape the gunman. When the coast was clear, Keith Cox told them to rush into a nearby office and lock themselves in. His longtime friend and coworker Christi Dewar pleaded with him to join them. "I said, 'Keith, come on,'" she said. "He said 'I've got to see if anybody else needs help.' He said. 'Barricade the door. Do it now.' " The group pushed file cabinets against the door while Cox looked for others. They never saw him alive again.
