As the evidence for the failure of vouchers accumulates, its friends push harder to enact them before the word gets out that they actually harm children.Nebraska is the target now. If you live in Nebraska, call your state legislator today and urge him or her to vote NO on LB 670.  Voucher advocates are pushing a tax credit there that would divert millions from public schools. The vast majority of students would suffer loss of funding so a tiny number could enroll in schools nowhere as good as the public schools. If you live in Nebraska, call your state legislator today and urge him or her to vote NO on LB 670.

The grand theft of taxpayer money to bemused for private schools is rife across America. With 15,880 school systems in 50 states, the demolition of public education continues as charters and vouchers win.

Tennessee: Voucher Plan Passes, a Win for DeVos and Trump

Only the taxpayers and students lose. Why is it easy to close a public school but hard to close a charter school? One guess: charter lobbyists wrote the state law. This is an unbelievable story about what it takes to shut down a failing charter in Pennsylvania. The public must pay the cost of challenging the charter and pay the cost of defending the charter.
